Workplace Violence Prevention Training

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), workplace violence and the threat of such violence against workers is on the rise. It is an unfortunate fact that workplace violence occurs both inside and outside the physical office and can range from intimidation and verbal abuse to physical assaults and even homicide, which is the second leading cause of job-related deaths.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE:

  • HR Professionals who are tasked with developing workplace violence prevention plans.
  • Members of management who must be educated on how to effectively address workplace conflict and spot risk factors for violence.
  • Staff level employees at risk for experiencing volatile behavior within their workplace from both co-workers and outsiders.

WHAT THIS COURSE COVERS:

Through this course, participants will learn how to:

  • Define the different categories and ongoing trends related to violence within work environments.
  • Recognize risk factors and identifiers for potential violence.
  • Identify and predict when violent situations may occur, such as terminations or other emotionally charged scenarios.
  • Safely diffuse situations with angry customers and / or co-workers.
  • Create and execute an active shooter situation plan.
  • Prepare and implement a workplace violence prevention policy and associated response procedures.
  • Establish post-incident reporting templates and systems.
  • Best practices for annual procedural review and updates.

HOW TO SCHEDULE YOUR TRAINING:

This class may be delivered as either a one-to-one training session or private group event at the location of the client’s choosing. Content and duration will be customized depending on client needs.
